We went on a school field trip to The Farm today-- lots and lots of fun.
Jack rode a tractor and then he got to pick two boxes of strawberries. Most of what he picked went into his mouth. I lost count of how many strawberries he had inhaled. The kid loves picking his own fruit, thats for sure. By the end of it all, he was covered in dirt and strawberry juice. Snapping pictures while following my little monkey around and still trying to pick strawberries was quite the challenge. Most pictures are of Jack just eating fruit-- I found it all amusing.
After strawberry picking we enjoyed a picnic lunch with our friends from class and then it was off to feed and touch all the animals. Jack's favorite of the day was the ostriches. Those darn creatures scared me... they bite and were fixated on getting all of Jack's food. They ate the carrots whole and stuck their heads out for more.... Jack was not quite as concerned and just kept feeding them. He was suppose to feed them through the designated tubes but decided he wanted to feed them through the cage directly. Carrots were not part of the ostriches diet, as the pellets were preferred, so they must have been a delicacy-- which must be why they were ready to devour my child's hand. No pictures were taken due the inability to snap pictures while attempting to protect Jack from carrot crazed ostriches.

someone loves fresh picked strawberries....
