Road Trip

We were all in need of a little getaway so we decided it was time to take a road trip. This was Jack's first road trip (of many to come) and he did a fantastic job. We drove to Palm Springs and enjoyed the warm weather and our mini vacation.
We packed as much as we could in our 3 days. Jack loved exploring the hotel and running around the hallways. He is one smart cookie and learned how to push the elevator buttons, climb in and out of everything, and pointed to everything he saw and said "this". He was also quite fascinated with the electrical outlets on the walls and EXIT Signs-- a few were actually manually removed off the wall thanks to Jack.

Where is Jack? Has anyone seen Jack?
Peek-a-boo! There is he!!!!

The hotel had a very cool and speedy water slide-- our little daredevil spotted it immediately and was determined to go on it. He went almost 15 times and smiled each time. They also had a dancing fountain which entertained Mr. Jack-- until he thought it would be even better to run around the pools (scaring Shawn and I to death)- OY VEY!

It looked like an innocent little slide--
but it was super exhilarating & kinda scary

drenched!

Shawn planned terrific outings for us during the day and fun places to eat at night. We even went to the Children's Discovery Museum and Jack got to discover and play with so much neat stuff.

Our first night out-- happy hour at the Cliffhouse

The Children's Discovery Museum had so much to see and do. It was a perfect place for Jack to run free and touch everything. It was also great to be indoors and not outside sweating.

Our fireman Jack to the rescue...

magnetic fun!

Doing an art project together

Time to shop for groceries... hmm, what do I need?

Jack's first encounter with a real life snake-- eww!

Shawn took us to a really neat Italian restaurant where the servers sing show tunes and opera. Jack was mesmerized by our server, Melissa's voice. He loved watching everyone sing and perform. Shawn finds the best places!!!

On the way home we stopped in Pasadena to see Uncle Adam and have lunch together. Jack napped and then wanted to play outside for a bit-- and got his first bee sting-- OUCH! Were now back to reality-- laundry, chores and work tomorrow... fun fun!
